Executive Team

We've assembled a team of Internet veterans who have helped create some of the most globally successful scalable platforms, technology products, services and brands.


Laurent Chavet – VP Chief Architect

Since joining DataSphere in early 2008, Laurent has been leading the software architecture team and the technical operation team; he has developed and architected most of DataSphere's platform. Laurent brings over 15 years of experience to the company, with a strong emphasis on scale and performance. Prior to joining DataSphere, he was PayScale.com's chief architect, where he architected the platform and laid the foundations for PayScale.com success in both B2C and B2B. He also held architect and development roles for Microsoft Search (now Bing.com), IBM Research's WebFountain, and AltaVista. Laurent holds three Masters of Science; two from Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France in Mathematics and Computer Science, and one from ENSEEIHT, Toulouse, France in Computer Science. In his free time you can find Laurent at the local race track or at a Taekwondo tournament, competing alongside his three children.

Adam Cramer – VP Marketing and Product

Adam leads the marketing and product management teams at DataSphere. He joined DataSphere in 2007, where he was responsible for the company's first product offerings and marketing efforts. Prior to DataSphere, he led the traffic and monetization team at MSN Shopping where he successfully grew revenue and customer engagement. Before joining Microsoft, he managed the online marketing department at Eddie Bauer and was responsible for generating $200M in revenue/year through EddieBauer.com. Adam holds a BA in Economics from Colby College. When not at work, Adam can be found entertaining his infant twin daughters.

Delane Hewett – Chief Technology Officer

Delane leads the engineering and technology organization at DataSphere. He started in the first days of the company, providing the technical roadmap, assembling of the technology leadership team and direction for delivery of the software platform and the suite of DataSphere sites. Delane brings extensive experience to the company, having served in various technology and leadership roles at Microsoft for the prior 15 years and at Boeing before that. At Microsoft, he launched highly scalable web sites and services, including Windows Marketplace, Bing/MSN Shopping, MSN HomeAdvisor, and MSN Core Technology. While at Microsoft, he also delivered best-of breed developer tools including Microsoft Visual Studio, .Net, and Microsoft SQL Server. Delane has authored dozens of patents and technical papers. He holds MS degrees in Engineering and Computer Science from Washington State University and The George Washington University. In his spare time, Delane enjoys backpacking, watersports, and spending time with his family.

Tony Ka – VP Software Development

Tony manages the development team and is responsible for the development and delivery of DataSphere's software platform. Tony brings 17 years of experience from Microsoft, where he was a Principal Engineer, worked on operating systems as well as web technologies, and obtained multiple patents. He holds a B.S. with Honors in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a M.S. in Computer Science from The University of Washington. Outside work, he has an interest in education and ways to improve the education system. He enjoys photography, playing on the lake with his family, and listening to podcasts when driving. His favorite podcasts are Freakonomics and Radiolab.

Satbir Khanuja – President and Chief Executive Officer

Satbir Khanuja is responsible for leading the overall growth and managing day-to-day operations of DataSphere Technologies. He previously served as SecondSpace's senior vice president of marketing and business development, responsible for the company's partnership, traffic-building and revenue-generating initiatives. He also spent seven years at Amazon.com as a member of the executive team and was vice president of Amazon.com's Worldwide Traffic organization, responsible for driving billions of dollars in sales through free and paid traffic to all Amazon.com websites worldwide. Previously, he was vice president and general manager of Amazon.com's IMDb.com and In-Theater businesses, where he created all business functions and built the division into one of the 50 most-trafficked websites in the world. Prior to Amazon.com, Satbir spent several years as an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, where he led projects in several industries, including electronics and banking. He holds a Ph.D. in Ceramics Engineering from MIT and a B.Tech. degree from IIT in Bombay, India.

Mike May – SVP Sales Operations

Mike heads all sales operations at DataSphere, and brings extensive experience to the role. Before joining the company, he was with Qwest (now CenturyLink), where he was Vice President and General Manager of the $1 billion, 14 state Small Business Sales & Service organization. Mike reversed a negative trend in that business and grew revenue in very competitive markets by more than $133 million in 3 years. He improved the call centers, built new distribution channels, raised customer service levels, and his unit won the Gallup "Great Workplace" award. Prior to Qwest, Mike spent 14 years at MCI (now Verizon), where he held various sales management positions, including Site Director for MCI’s largest Small Business and Consumer Sales & Service call center. Mike holds a BS in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Auburn University (2010 College Football National Champions). Aside from work, Mike loves spending time with his college sweetheart wife and their three kids, playing golf and softball, travel, playing drums and piano, backgammon, all things Auburn, and reading world history.

Tim Morones – VP Customer Operations

Tim is the VP of Customer Operations. He joined DataSphere in 2010 and led several key initiatives as the VP of Finance and Operations. In his current role, Tim oversees and manages all of DataSphere's customer operations and he is also responsible for the general management of the LandWatch website, a division of DataSphere. Tim also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for ITEX Corporation (OTC: ITEX) and is currently the Audit Committee Chairman. Prior to joining DataSphere, Tim was a business unit manager for Getty Images worldwide unauthorized use program where he was successful in turning around the operations, and doubling revenues within a two-year time period. Tim has held various management positions with InfoSpace, Trendwest Resorts, Nextel International and McCaw Cellular. Tim holds a BS in Business Administration with a major in Finance from California State University, Sacramento. When not at work, Tim enjoys trying his hand at fly fishing and spending time with family.

Tim O'Neil – Chief Financial Officer

Tim leads the finance, operations and administration organization at DataSphere and brings extensive experience to the role, having previously served as CFO of two public companies. Prior to joining DataSphere, Tim served as chief financial officer of Loud Technologies (NASDAQ: LTEC), a world-recognized loudspeaker and audio equipment company with over $200M in revenues. Prior to Loud, Tim was chief financial officer of Trendwest Resorts (NASDAQ:TWRI) which sold timeshare vacation ownership interests. At Trendwest, Tim served as a member of the executive team which grew the company to $600 million in revenues and 4,000 employees. Trendwest was acquired by Cendant Corporation in 2002, creating over a billion dollars in shareholder value. He holds a BS from John Carroll University and an MBA from the University of Detroit.
